How offline mode works

When Flexchange has synced rates before, it can use those saved rates for conversion while offline. The app shows useful currency math without pretending offline rates are freshly updated.

Use the latest rates already on your device while you are in transit, roaming, or away from reliable Wi-Fi.

Offline conversion is based on last synced data. Refresh when you are online again for current rates.

Prepare before your connection disappears

Open Flexchange online and allow exchange rates to sync.
Choose the currencies you need and enter a test amount.
Disconnect temporarily and confirm that the saved conversion still works.

Saved rates are estimates from a moment in time

Imagine a saved rate of 1 EUR = 1.10 USD. A 50 EUR price would convert to 55 USD using that saved rate. This is an illustrative calculation, not today’s rate. If rates changed after your last sync, the offline estimate would not reflect the change.

Use saved conversions to compare prices or plan a rough budget. Check the current quote from your payment provider before a transaction, including any fees. Our card-rate guide explains why the billed amount can differ.

Does offline conversion require Premium?

No. Conversion with previously synced rates is available in Free and Premium. Free-plan currency and calculator limits still apply. More frequent Premium refreshes require a connection; they do not make an offline rate current.
